1.We all know many things about Yuvraj Singh like He was an avid roller-skater and has also won the National Under-14 Roller Skating Championship, his six sixes in T20 cricket and his battle against cancer. But there are more things that people may don’t know about Yuvi.

2.As a child actor, Yuvraj featured in Punjabi movies. Mehndi Sajda Di and Putt Sardara were the two movies in which he did two short roles as a child actor. In a Bollywood animated film, “Jumbo” Yuvraj has given his voice.

3.Yuvraj was diagnosed with a rare germ cell cancer between his lungs after his battle with Cancer, based on which his autobiography titled: The Test of My Life: From Cricket to Cancer and Back.


4.He wears the jersey number 12, as his birth date is on 12th of December. He considers 12 to be his lucky number.

5.In 2007, a computer and video game series by Codemasters was popular with the name Brian Lara Cricket which was launched in India under the name of Yuvraj Singh International Cricket 2007.

6.A Porsche 911 was awarded to Yuvraj Singh in 2007 by the vice president of BCCI after his awesome performances in inaugural ICC World T20. Audi Q5 was presented to him for his all-around performances in the 2011 ODI World Cup.


7.Yuvi jammed his first bicycle into a rickshaw on his first ride and badly injured ended up with 10 stitches. He was only 7 at that time.

8.Yuvi accidently shot one of his friends with an air gun . one of Yuvraj’s friend brought an air gun when they were young. Thank god no damage was done!

9.Microsoft signed Yuvraj Singh as a brand ambassador for Xbox 360 video game which was launched in the Indian market in 2006.


10.Yuvraj’s first ODI century came in his 71st ODI against Bangladesh, he struck unbeaten 102 off just 85 balls.Before that, he smashed 12 half centuries. Yuvraj now has 13 centuries and 51 half-centuries from 293 matches.On the other hand, his 1st test century came in his third test against Pakistan.

11.Yuvraj’s famous knock was 358 runs against Bihar in U19 Cooch-Behar Trophy.

12.Yuvraj Singh scored the fastest fifty in 20 overs cricket when he struck his half century in just 12 balls against England in the famous match in which he smashed six sixes in six balls.


13. He is the only player in Indian cricket history who has been a part of 3 successful World Cup campaigns. He became Player of the Series in ICC U19 World Cup in 2000. While in 2007, in first T20 World Cup, which India won, Yuvraj was absolutely brilliant from the Indian side. In 2011, when India lifted the 50 over ODI World Cup, it was again Yuvraj Singh who won the Player of the Series.


14. Yuvraj Singh was conferred with the Arjuna Award in 2012 and Padma Shri in 2014. In the same year, he was recognized with FICCI Most Inspiring Sportsperson of the Year Award.


15.‘YouWeCan’ Yuvraj Singh’s initiative with which he plans to help cancer patients in their treatment.
